Where our facts come from

We use three types of sources, in this order of priority.

• Romanian law as published: the Fiscal Code, the Companies Law (Law 31/1990), the Government Emergency Ordinance on foreigners (GEO 194/2002) and related acts.
• Official government websites: the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI), the National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF), the National Trade Register Office (ONRC) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa portal.
• EU sources: EUR-Lex and the European Commission, for rules shared across member states.

When no official source states a figure, we may use a secondary source, such as a bank or a professional publication. Such facts are marked as secondary next to the figure. If we find no reliable source at all, we do not publish a number.

How facts are shown on a page

• Each key figure links to the source it was taken from.
• Pages with figures end with a sources list that shows what each source was used for.
• Each page shows the date its facts were last checked.

How often we check

We review the facts on each page at least once a year. We also recheck a topic when a new law, ordinance or official notice changes it, for example a new annual work permit quota or a change in tax rates.

When a fact changes, we update the page and its check date. Rules that are announced but not yet in force are described as such, with the date they take effect.

Reporting an outdated fact

If you see a figure that no longer matches the official source, write to [email protected] or use the form on the contact page (/contact). Please include the page address, the figure and, if you have it, a link to the newer source.

We usually review reports within a few working days. If the report is correct, we fix the page and update its check date.

Who writes the content

Pages are prepared by the Romania Legal Help team. We do not list individual authors or reviewers. The content describes how official procedures work and how we prepare, translate and file documents. It is general information, not advice on your specific case.

Prices on this site

Prices are indicative and shown as "from" amounts. The final quote depends on your case: the number of documents, translations, state fees and deadlines. State fees are set by the authorities and can change. Current packages are listed on the prices page (/prices).

Corrections and independence

• Errors are corrected on the page itself, without hiding the change.
• No authority, bank or third party pays to appear in our content.
• We describe outcomes as decided by the authorities; we do not promise approval of any application.
